Berkshire County Living in Recovery
Living in Recovery is a community recovery center. Our mission is to provide a safe, peaceful and non-judgmental platform to aid the entire Berkshire County recovery community. This includes, family members, friends and supports.
Living in Recovery was established in 2018 in loving memory of Joseph R. Botz, to provide a variety of non-clinical, peer-led support, educational and social options.
Emphasis is placed on making the recovery experience interesting, fun, and sustainable. Living in Recovery supports all pathways and stages of recovery.
Peer Support Groups
Peer to peer support groups are held at the center each day that it is open.
Social Activities
At Living in Recovery we believe, (and studies show), that socialization, exploring old and new interests, hobbies and fun assist a person in not only sustaining recovery but also in enhancing their friendships and their overall happiness in recovery. Members come up with ideas for social activities and then help to make them happen. From cook-outs, to musical bingo, to walks in nature, playing board games and much more! Come join the fun in our community.
Supporting Our Community
Another aspect to Peer Recovery Support Centers, such as Living in Recovery, is for members to also take an active role in raising awareness of addiction and recovery. Support local initiatives to reduce the stigma of substance use disorder, address or raise awareness of overdose, sit on committees for harm reduction and decrease overdose deaths as well as working with organization such as M.O.A.R. to work toward changing laws and legislation that is punitive to those with substance use disorder.
